“Formula Tour 1600 Series hits the streets of Trois Rivieres for the annual event that sees Britain West launch a four-car effort”

2011-08-04Brantford, Ontario – August 4, 2011 – Britain West Motorsport, Canada’s leading Formula Ford competition group, will make a second consecutive trip to Quebec, this time trading in the sweeping, tree-lined turns of Circuit Mont Tremblant for the tight, concrete confines of the Grand Prix of Trois Rivieres or as many call it, GP3R. The Quebec-based Formula Tour 1600 Series will again be part of a huge event that sees eight different series in action throughout the three-day festival of motorsports. With over 30 cars expected to take to the grid, the action will be furious through the twisty, temporary street course. A fan favourite in the province known for their love of racing, crowds are expected to fill the stands and take in all the open wheel, sports car and stock car action.

Under the Britain West Motorsport tent for the double header weekend will be Nathan Blok of Pembrook, Ontario, who continues to lead the Formula Tour Pro Division points standings following an event weekend at Mont Tremblant. Joining Blok in the Pro Class will be Sergio Pasian of St-Jeanne d’arc, Quebec. Guy Gilian of St. Eustache, Quebec will line up in the Masters class along side Isabelle Tremblay of Longueuil, Quebec as she does double duty taking in her regular NASCAR Canada racing duties during the weekend. Garett Grist, a member of the Sofina Foods Driver Development Program, will miss the weekend of racing as he works off the effects of contact during the Mont Tremblant weekend that saw the rookie vie for the win on the last lap.

“Tremblant was a tough weekend for the team. We had damage to all of cars at some point on the weekend. The team had to work overtime to keep on top of the cars and keep everyone racing,” comments David Clubine, owner of Britain West Motorsport. “Our line up of drivers for Three Rivers is great. I expect Nathan will have another good weekend and both Guy and Sergio are driving great. It’s nice to have Isabelle back in the car. Its’ too bad Garett will miss the race, but it’s key he is 100% for the rest of the season.”
