This past year was a very busy year for Britain West Motorsport. We were again involved in three race series: the Toyo Tire F1600 Championship in Ontario, the Formula Tour 1600 in Quebec and the F2000 Championship Series in the U.S.A. It was the inaugural season of the Super Series Championship, which was a series within two series involving the four largest races from the Ontario and Quebec schedules. These included the May Canadian Tire Nascar weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the F1 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, the Honda Indy in Toronto, and the Grand Prix of Trois Rivieres.
Chase Pelletier of Brampton Ontario, piloting our new 2014 Mygale race car and had podium finishes on all four weekends, including two victories in Trois Rivieres capturing the overall Super Series Championship. This was a great achievement for both Chase and the team working for the first year with the new Mygale. Chase also finished runner up in the Toyo Tire F1600 Championship in Ontario. Congratulations Chase for a great 2014!!
Britain West Motorsport was please to also have the following drivers as part of our team this year: Jean-Phillipe Jodoin, Guy Gilain, Yves Beaudoin, Olivier Bedard, Brian Fowler, Marcel Lafontaine, Frank Petti, Ted Michalos and Bill Bovenizer.
We also would like to thank our full-time staff and our weekend warriors for their effort this race season: Don Sobering, David Owen, Phil Matthews, Ken Robins, Ryan Kelly, Adam Kube, Steve Adams, Michael Adams, Bill Vallis and Brian Nielson. We cannot do it without your help and dedication to this sport also.
On a more personal side, Britain West Motorsport and the Clubine family mourned the loss of Oliver, father, husband and grandpa, in April of this year. His love of sports cars and racing led to the birth of Britain West in 1976 and his guidance, knowledge and never ending enthusiasm will be forever missed. His legacy of course is the continuing of Britain West Motorsport under the leader of his son David.
