Brantford, Ontario – May 25, 2011 – Britain West Motorsport, Canada’s leading Formula Ford competition group, heads east this weekend to the picturesque local of Mont-Tremblant located in the beautiful Laurentian Mountains. Racing at the Circuit Mont-Tremblant Britain West Motorsport looks to open the 2011 Formula Tour 1600 season with solid results among four drivers. One of the most competitive and unique Formula Ford-based series, the Formula Tour Series will hit several venues in 2011 as they complete a six-weekend, 12 round calendar. Part of this weekend’s Classique du Printemps (Spring Classic) will include not only the Formula Ford cars but also GT cars and classic race vehicles. The twisty 15-corner design utilizes the natural topography of the land and is considered one of the finest and most demanding circuits in the world. At 4.26 km, there are challenges at every corner as the track snakes through the beautiful rolling hills of the Circuit Mont- Tremblant facility.

Britain West Motorsport will have four drivers under the tent with Ontario native Nathan Blok leading the way in the Pro Division. Joining Blok in the Pro Division will be Quebec driver Sergio Pasian, who is making his first start at Mont-Tremblant and will complete the entire Formula Tour championship. Also from Quebec, Guy Gilian will be running in the Masters class. Sofina Foods Driver Development member Garett Grist will be making a one off appearance at Circuit Mont-Tremblant as he looks to gain more seat time in the ultra competitive Pro Division. Block, who took his first career win at the Calabogie track in 2010 and ran well in his rookie season, should be a major factor all weekend long.

“We have a good group of cars for Tremblant. A mix of our experienced racers and our new guys,” comments David Clubine, Team Principal for Britain West Motorsport. “Guy and Nathan ran well here last year. We were able to take both wins in the final weekend of the season. Garett was a last minute addition to the weekend. It’s great to see him getting more seat time.”

Along with running several cars in the Ontario Formula Ford Challenge, Britain West Motorsport will field a multi car effort through the entire 2011 Formula Tour Series with drivers in each of the classes. Racing in both series is a major effort and the entire Britain West Motorsport crew is up for the challenge. Following the opening round of Formula Tour, Britain West Motorsport will head to the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for rounds three and four of the Formula Tour series. On the Grand Prix weekend, Britain West Motorsport will have seven drivers under the tent including Quebec Late Model standout Isabelle Tremblay, who will be making her formula car debut. Look for a complete driver line up in the coming weeks.
